NORDIC WALKING AT ANY ALTITUDE LEVEL
The rhythmic leg movement during Nordic-Walking trains your leg muscles and strengthens your veins and arteries. But your arms and shoulders also get a work-out during Nordic-Walking. Endurance sports such as Nordic-Walking help you to shed weight, since they improve your fat metabolism. You always stay in an aerobic zone and use fat deposits as an energy source. At the same time you are building muscle mass and increasing your basal metabolic rate and calorie expenditure.
Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is a pioneering Nordic-Walking region. You can practice Nordic Walking at any altitude level with us. We offer you 7 circular routes, which have been assessed using sports science, in different levels of difficulty (2 easy, 1 moderate, 4 difficult). Choose between gentle routes in Altenmarkt at 842 m to 1.125 m altitude and the somewhat more demanding routes in Zauchensee, from 1.330 to 1.750 m.
