The Walchhofer family runs their hotels in the World Cup ski region of Zauchensee with great passion and dedication. Rupert Walchhofer, together with his wife Ingrid and their children Stefanie, Theresa, and Andreas, are the hosts of the Zauchenseehof in Salzburger Land. Michael Walchhofer, together with his wife Barbara and their children Hannah, Patrick, and Mathias, are the hosts of the 4-star Hotel Zauchensee Zentral in Salzburger Land. After his professional career as a ski racer, Michael Walchhofer fully entered the hotel business and has since been responsible for all external communications of the Walchhofer hotels.
There is a direct connection for guests between the smaller Zauchensee Zentral and the Zauchenseehof. This allows them to benefit from all the Familotel’s room, care, and program offerings: indoor play adventure world, childcare in the Happy Club, children’s pool with 2 slides, newly designed wellness area with Adults Only Spa.

Ever since the construction of the first hotel, the Zauchenseehof in 1968, the Walchhofers have naturally combined traditional values with a contemporary adaptation to changing guest needs. Their daily work as a host family involves a lot of experience and know-how. The next generation of hoteliers is already benefiting from this. The two Walchhofer daughters, Stefanie and Hannah, have contributed their perspectives to the current expansion of the Zauchenseehof. Both attended tourism school and are following in their parents’ footsteps with full commitment and passion.
